Count Images per Gallery

Is there a way to display the number of images per gallery in a way that would recurse from the gallery page back to the thumbnails to the top of the album? This should be a simple .php function but I don’t know anything about writing code.

I have a disney photo site and the albums are built as follows <HOME> –> <PARK NAME> –> <ATTRACTION> –> <PHOTO GALLERY>

So what I am looking for is something like MAGIC KINGDOM (1000 photos) –> FANTASYLAND (600 photos) –> PETER PAN (55 photos)
