    Hi, so I’m getting an error message when I try an install plugins to my wordpress site. I’m working on the site through the dashboard and am hosted by godaddy.

    This is the error I’m getting.

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/profile-builder.2.2.1.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Could not create directory.

    Return to Plugin Installer

    I’ve read through other thread and I’ve tried adding this to my
    wp-config.php

    define(‘FS_METHOD’,’direct’);

    I’ve also tried to deactivate all my plugins and reload the dashboard. Neither of these have worked. I haven’t tried to changed the recursive permission # because of the security issues that were noted.

    I’m relatively new to wordpress so detailed answers would be super appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Also I was just to reinstall the profile builder plugin. (I had deleted it because I was getting a server error when I tried to make a to the email message via the plugins code.) So its not an issue of not having the permission to run this specific plugin.

    I am starting to have this issue with every plugin or theme. I manually upgraded a couple today but renaming the install folder and unzipping to the plugins directory but now some theme updates are showing similar. I used bitnami to install the stack on a Windows 2012 R2 box.

    I have four just like the one below.

    An error occurred while updating Auberge: Could not create directory. C:/Bitnami/wordpress/apps/wordpress/htdocs/wp-content/themes/auberge/
    I am not yet on 4.3 yet after 4.1 or whatever version it was broke my site. I started over at the latest version but disable autoupgrade.

    Any ideas?

    Why does this show resolved now? No one has posted but me and I didn’t resolve it.
