Corruption on Hover Effects data

I have 6 blocks with hover effects active. Each of which shows text when the mouse goes over it and redirects to a url on the same site when clicked. All has been working fine until recently. Some of the text in the description got corrupted somehow and had a load of what look like colour codes added to it. And the url keeps being elongated by adding addition @http://@ every time an entry is saved. And it is added to ALL defined entries. Have deactivated and activated but still seems to be an issue when editing anything
