Core message still present

    Hello,

    I have the update nag displaying: An automated WordPress update has failed to complete - please attempt the update again now.

    The plugin is active and it works for plugin updates, but I can’t get rid of that message. It’s the one I want to remove because Editors also get a similar message:
    An automated WordPress update has failed to complete! Please notify the site administrator.

    The automated update failed and then I upgraded to WordPress 4.1.1 manually. However I can’t get rid of that message. I tried all the tricks like removing .maintenance file (which doesn’t exist) and upgrade folder.
