    Hello!
    I have a doubt about copyrights, i’m thinking about creating a blog that is about videogames (news, reviews, ps3 themes, etc) and design, (mainly phostoshop tutorials and discussion), by using names like adobe, sony and all those company and games names, and pictures, even if i found those in google, am i inflicting copyrights?
    sorry for the bad english, i am brazilian.

    No, you are allowed to talk about things. What you can’t do is use people’s trademarks to sell your own stuff. So, for example, you could not design your site based on the PS3 logo, or whatnot.

    I’m sure companies like Sony and Abobe would not be as big as they are if noone was allowed to use their names when reviewing stuff (!)

    Names and pictures are two completely different things.

    By using the name of a company or a product in a review or article about a game you are doing nothing wrong.

    Using an image that you have found via Google might well be a copyright infringement though, you should check the ownership of each image you use.

    ok, and let’s say that i want to post images of games in my blog,
    like a gta 4 or burnout screenshot, to use in a review, or as background, etc. Am i inflicting copyrights?Even if i take the screenshots??And even if it is not a commercail blog, only a personal/community one?

    I expect that you would need to research this area properly to comply with your own local laws and those of the country where you are publishing (your web host).

    In general, I would expect your own pictures (screengrabs) to be ok in the context of a review, however you must be careful not to use other people’s images etc. as part of your site design, or to promote your site.

    While I admire your ability to shout-type (all caps), I have to ask that you take your complaints to the owner of the site you have issue with.

    We have no association with any sites running WordPress software, nor do we offer any oversight or management of those same sites.
