• Hello,

I have a website hosted on Go Daddy and it is well ranked. I recently created another website using wordpress with another domain name hosted on Host Gator. I want to copy the exact same content to the old domain while keeping the new domain’s content. Is there a simple way to do this? I want to do this because the old domain is very well ranked and I don’t want to dissipate all the effort I exerted to make this happen. Please guide me through the necessary steps as I am new to wordpress.
    Thank you in advance!

I am no expert here, but I believe having duplicate content at the two sites would destroy the SEO ranking of either or both.

It’s very important to understand that if, in 2015, as a webmaster you republish posts, press releases, news stories or product descriptions found on other sites, then your pages are very definitely going to struggle to gain in traction in Google’s SERPS (search engine results pages).

Google doesn’t like using the word ‘penalty’ but if your entire site is made of entirely of republished content – Google does not want to rank it.

If you have a multiple site strategy selling the same products – you are probably going to cannibalise your own traffic in the long run, rather than dominate a niche, as you used to be able to do.
