• Hi all,
I have migrated my html website to WordPress and 100% of the work is done.
When looking at former html pictures galleries (tables containing pictures and text), it is not responsive.

I would like to convert these tables into a proper wordpress gallery/slideshow with the attached comments.

Here is an example of one page I would like to convert: http://www.dday-overlord.com/normandie/plages/juno-beach

Any idea on the way to do it for the +400 pages containing a gallery?

    Thanks

  • I am not sure but I think you have to transfer all the files into a WordPress gallery by yourself. Maybe you can find a plugin, but I don’t know if it’s work great.

Did you have tried to copy the HTML text of your table into the input field of a WordPress article or page? You must paste it into the html editor, not into the WYSIWYG editor.

Please let me know if it works =)

    Hi Michael.
The URL shared is one example of the HTML text copy into the WYSIWYG editor of a WP page. As I wrote, it works but it is not responsive. Any copy into the html would not work (the pictures are not imported).
If I remove “<table border=”0″ width=”100%”>” of this page, the former structure of the page is lost. And I would like to create a real gallery/slideshow, not just a list of pictures.

Transfering all the files into a gallery is what I am looking for. I do not think that a plugin would work since this is a specific request related to my specific website (and its html to WP migration).

I have tried to convert the html table (with the pictures + comments) into a xls file, then to import the xls file using the Table Press plugin (excellent by the way). But the result is not fine. It does not work for a responsive WP page and/or a slideshow.

Of course, I could import all the pictures and create one by one the new slideshows and galleries. But I would like to find a way to do it automaticaly for the +400 galleries of my website, PLUS with the text attached to each picture…

Thanks for any idea that might hel!
