    Hi,

    I’ve been testing the chatbot

I can see in the logs that it shows token usage and even an estimated cost per conversation, which is great. But I’m a bit confused about how to actually limit the monthly API spending.

I found the “Conversation Limits” (messages per user / global per day), but I’m not sure if that’s the only way to control costs or if there is some kind of hard budget limit (like $10-15/month max) that stops usage automatically.

    Basically:

Is there a way to set a monthly budget cap?
Or do I have to calculate it manually using daily limits?
What’s the best way to avoid unexpected API bills?

Any advice or recommended setup would be appreciated 🙏

    Thanks!

    Hi!

At the moment, there isn’t a way to set a fixed monthly budget cap (like $10/month). I’ve noted this as a possible feature for the future.

Hi! We’ve just released an update that improves this

You can now set limits in:
AxiaChat AI → Settings → Usage & Moderation

There you’ll find both message limits and budget limits for your chatbot (daily/monthly tokens or USD).

Please update the plugin to the latest version and test your ai chat — your chatbot should now be much easier to control in terms of cost. Let me know how it goes!
