control when email notifications are sent by wordpress

    hi

    I would like to choose whether or not WordPress should send out an email(to my subscribers) when I publish a new post.

    I cannot find any way or plugin to do this.

    any help would be greatly appreciated.

    It sounds like you might be looking for a subscription management plugin of some sort. Have a look in the plugin directory and see if there’s anything that might fit your need. General search terms such as “notify” or “subscribe” or “notify users” should give you a general idea of what to look for. Here’s an example of what might be returned in that type of a search: Subscribe2 Plugin

    Thanks for the reply.

    I just cannot find a plugin for this. it feels like such a simple thing and yet Ive had no luck. The ‘Subcribe2’ plugin you suggested is the closest I could find but it does not even pick up my existing followers I have on my site….

    Any other advice maybe?

    ps – is there is difference between “subscribers” and “followers”? My site refers to them as followers I think..
