“Continue reading” for long posts

This won’t solve the problem (if I understand it correctly) of “with or without the anchor on the next page” but:
the_content(‘Continue reading “‘ . get_the_title() . ‘” here’);

When editing the post… right above the text area is a set of buttons called Quicktags. Set the cursor where you want ot cut it off at and hit the “more” button. It will add the <!–more–> tag at that point.
