• I recently installed WordPress on a MySQL server. I have installed many, many WordPress databases on different hosting accounts, and all have worked smoothly.

Lately, though, I continue to receive WordPress database connection error messages, even though I know the config file is accurate. Often, reloading the page 2 or 3 times “clears” the error. I have noticed this happens mostly when I am working in the Dashboard, and am clicking to another menu area, or am trying to save information to the database.

I have checked with my host (GoDaddy) but they did not detect any issues with the database itself, or the server it resides on.

    Help?

  • Gee – look – GoDaddy again. The issue is with their MySQL server. It’s probably intermittently over-loaded but as this is an intermittent issue, you’d have to really strike lucky to get them to see it. Definitely not your problem though…
