I am looking to build a new wordpress site and the requirements are that all sub-sites inherit the entire look and feel of the parent site, but will allow managers of the sub-sites to do their own blogging but also show the blog posts from the parent site, have their own social media share links and contact information forms.

Any changes made to the parent template should flow down to all subsites
Any plugin used in the parent site will be activated and available in the subsite.

Basically, the only information in the subsite that will be different will be the URL, Photo, Name, contact info, social media links, but everything else will be controlled from the parent site without the ability for a child site manager being able make template changes.

Looking for guidance on how to accomplish such a task. Each of the subsites will be setup as subdomains with a wildcard cert for security and each subsite will hve it’s own admin for blogging, but allow for parent admin access.

    Appreciate any guidance or tips.
    Thanks

  • You can use the same theme on every site and it will look the same. However, settings such as widgets, menus, etc are unique to each site and will need to be set up individually. Those settings can not be inherited to other sites.
