I am very confused. The page I have listed displays updated JSON data correctly using the Pro plugin if viewed in Firefox. However if viewed in Chrome, IE, and Edge it shows old data and refuses to refresh. Have you ever seen this before? I am stumped.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

the plugin creates the html-code on the serverside independet of any browser.
My guess is that the html you create is browser dependent.

My debug would be to simplify the plugins output.

If the refresh is not working you might add ?a=4234 or something like that to force the browser to generate a new page.

Add that to the page URL? Yea I am totally stumped why all browsers but Firefox show stale content.

In my chrome and firefox it looks ok.
    Just use
    https://colliertaxcollector.com/obwaitimes/?wedontcare=435435

Keep an eye on “meet the staff”-images. Those change only if an obviously present cache is not active.
My guess that a wordpress-cacher saves the page and shows it for some time without changes.
If there is a cacher try to switch it off at least for this page.

Just FYI in case you have any other customers hosting WordPress on GoDaddy with their managed WP hosting. They have caching that is not configurable, it is always on. In order for me to get the JSON data page to refresh consistently on all browsers I had to put my URL in this format – https://colliertaxcollector.com/obwaitimes/?nocache=1 Might save someone a lot of hassle in the future.

    Very good!
    “?nocache=1” is a good idea.
    Thank you.

May I have your site as a good example for the usage of my plugin at my websites?

I’d love to have such a “Customer wait time information” here in munich, germany.
If you need to renew your passport you have to get up early, grab a number at the counter and return hours later – not too early, not too late.
