Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins (other than the one you are using) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

The plugin works as expected with Twenty Ten, and I’ve tried deactivating all other plugins while using my preferred theme, but the content is still appearing at the top of the screen, with the header at the bottom.

I have only been working with WP for a week and this is proving beyond me, so if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated.

Mojo are unable to help because it is not one of their themes.. And Elegant Themes without even looking at the site, insist I should look elsewhere. I have to say I’m disappointed with their attitude to this problem which I first asked their help on Sunday. I have two responses from the same advisor who simply says go look elsewhere.
I came here for help as a last resort because I have nowhere else to turn. So if anyone can take a look for me, it really would be appreciated.

I pointed you to Mojo as they market a theme called Modest as do Elegant Themes. Sorry, I haven’t seen duplicate names before.
http://lythgoes.net/genealogy/software.php should have support for you as the software you are using is commercial.
Otherwise, perhaps some one who uses that theme might have an idea.
