I just uploaded a new post to my site this morning, and now all of my posts are displaying a Content Not Found error message. The pages are all still available, just not the posts. I had been having plugin issues with the new WordPress 3.9, so I had my site restored back to WordPress 3.8.3; this is the first post I’ve uploaded since that restore. I’m running the Pinboard theme and would appreciate any insight from others who have had this issue. Thank you!

  • Try this, sometimes it might be redirect issue. Go to Settings > Permalinks and click save, just to reset your permalinks. That might do the trick. Let me know.

Victor – I followed your instructions, but unfortunately, no such luck! I also cleared my cache and updated all of my plugins, which kind of resolved the issue… at the very least, my previous posts are now visible in full!

However, my newest post is still not showing up; when I click on the link from my homepage, the post shows just the title, but no additonal text or graphics. I believe the problem to be the Ziplist plugin, which has had problems with various versions of WordPress. I cannot determine which version of Ziplist is compatible with which version of WordPress. My newest post was created and posted after I had updated to WordPress 3.9 and then restored back down to WordPress 3.8.3; I think this may be the root of the problem, but I’m not sure what next steps to take.

You can test it, if you disable Ziplist plugin, does it work?
Looks like Ziplist plugin was updated after 3.9 came out, so technically, it should be compatible with 3.9. See if disabling Ziplist fixes it, that way you’ll know if its the plugin or not.

Seems like all of your posts are working, except for the new one. I can access them all but the first one on the page.

Go into your new post from the dashboard and double check the permalink directly under the title. Make sure there are no other posts with the same permalink.

Evan – it does not appear that I have any other sites with the same permalink.

Viktor – I tried deactivating Ziplist, but still seem to be having problems – only with my newest post. I’m contemplating either updating to WordPress 3.9 (though I am worried that Ziplis will stop working altogether and I’ll have issues with ALL posts) or replacing Ziplist with the EasyRecipe Plus plugin. I’ve heard that the transition from Ziplist to EasyRecipe Plus is incredibly easy and it would eliminate the Ziplist problems altogether.

Either way, I need to backup my site/Wordpress before updating to WordPress 3.9. I’m still just a beginner with all of this stuff, so I may need to do a little more research before being able to test other fixes for this issue. Thank you both so much for your help!

    Hi,
Basic troubleshooting is to disable plugins one by one to see if the problem goes away, so you can narrow down one plugin that possibly causes the issue. If you’d like, you can try that. Checking the issue every time.

If you don’t want to disable plugins, try this. Copy contents of the post, delete it completely to remove from trash, and then re-publish it with new post. See if that fixes it. Maybe there was an issue with posting that specific post. Removing it from trash folder ensures you can use the same slug for URL as the previous post.

Hi Viktor – I did as you said, and removed the post and re-posted it. Success!

However, I also removed the Ziplist plugin and purchased the Easy Recipe Plus plugin, which has been an absolute dream. Hopefully this will prevent similar problems in the future. Thanks again!
