This morning when I checked my blog (http://fantasyandfaith.com), I found that the second column containing my static widgets has disappeared from the home page and a couple of other pages as well. On some pages that I haven’t changed lately (like “About”), the column appears just fine. The only thing I did yesterday was post an update and delete spam from my Akismet folder, as usual.

I briefly looked over my dashboard and everything seems to be in order. Can anyone tell me what’s going on? I’m stumped.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I checked the code with Safari’s debugger plug-ins and deactivated the plug-ins that I got errors on, but it didn’t help. Then I got your note and tried the Twenty Eleven theme and it works! Thanks so much for your help!

I am getting the same problem and i’ve been unable to resolve it. I am new to WordPress. I have tried re-installing various themes including the Twenty Eleven theme to no avail. I have widgets displaying along the bottom of my site, but not the right or left.

    Any suggestions please?
