Hello @thepanickedfoodie,
Hope you are having a great day and thanks for contacting us!
Make sure you add your shortcode in the Text tab of the page editor. If you did it from the visual tab it could change the reserved tags to render it in the page. It could be something else, but’s let’s try this first.
Please, let me know if you need any further assistance.
Kind regards,
Diego
Hi Diego,
I just navigated to the visual tab of the contact page, cut the text, navigated to the text tab, pasted it there, then clicked update. I still get the same result.
I first noticed this problem when I first migrated over from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. But in moving over, I also changed my theme from the twenty sixteen theme to Kale. Maybe this has something to do with it?
Sincerely,
The Panicked Foodie
Hi @thepanickedfoodie.
Could you check whether you have Contact Form 7 plugin installed?
Kind regards.
Hi,
I just checked my plugins, and no, I don’t see it installed. Would installing it fix the issue?
Sincerely,
The Panicked Foodie
Yep, it would.
That “HTML” you see on that page is actually Contact Form 7’s shortcode.
After installation, you might need to create a new contact form in the plugin’s settings. Or maybe everything will just fall into place.
Kind regards.
Thanks! That worked.
I installed the plugin you suggested, went through all of the settings, than sent a few test emails to verify that it works.
Sincerely,
The Panicked Foodie
You’re welcome.
Glad that it is fixed now.
