“Contact Form 7” upload location

I have successfully installed the “Contact Form 7” plugin and can upload files and have them sent as an email attachment however I can’t find the file anywhere on my site. I presumed the file gets uploaded to a folder but none is to be found. It seems the plugin allows an upload for the sole purpose of sending it as an attachment to the admin email. Is this correct or have I misunderstood the functionality of the plugin?
