I just downloaded and activated this plugin for a website and when I clicked on ‘activate’ the whole website disappeared. I had to get my hosting company to restore it.

Has anyone had this problem?

I am sorry to hear that. About ten thousands of the plugin package are downloaded every day, but I have never heard about such problems.
