that would be plugins/contact-form-7/ @ahamaton.
hope this helps,
frank
Thanks a lot. I am a novice at this, can you tell me where i put this ?
Sure: on AO’s main settings-screen in the top-right-ish corner there’s a button “show advanced settings”, click that, scroll down to JS optimization where you will see “Exclude scripts from Autoptimize” which is a comma-separated input field. There’s more info on troubleshooting & excluding JavaScript (or CSS) in the FAQ.
have a nice sunday!

Thank you very much for this. When I insppect pages I also notice there are issues with recatcha which is a contact form 7 addon. will the exclusion string you refer to take care of that as well or do I need to add another string ?
best way forward would be to test @ahamaton, if it doesn’t work look at the browser’s console for JS errors and work from there (feel free to follow up here). also; I think there are posts about AO+CF7+reCaptcha here in the support forum already, so do have a look around!
Thanks again
How do i run the test your referring to regards @ahamaton
Thanks again
Andrew
well, you go to your contact form (best in another browser or in an “anonymous” window) and you try to fill out the form? for info about JS debugging & the browser console see e.g. https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_Diagnosis
Right, thanks
You see the forms are working fine. However, I have had a mysterious issue recently when building pages of them crashing and deleting themselves. I have had someone look at this and possibly have resolved it but it happened again a couple of days ago however, this time it was just moved to bin so it was recoverable. The recaptcha question is really about best practice. As last year my site was just not ranking at all. So this year I have invested in structured data and markup language and I have invested in the sites performance. I have masses of metadata on the site so it has to be a technical issue. Anyway, we just finished markup but now the site isnt indexing at all. So during troubleshooting I just found this error on the site, so thought it would be just best practice to elminate as many errors on the page as possible
eliminating errors certainly is best practice, for your SEO and your visitors alike 😉
