confused about CDN with WP Super Cache
-
I am setting up AWS (Amazon S3 with Cloudfront) for content delivery and want to use it with WP Super Cache.
I see that I can put the Cloudfront URL directly into Super Cache. But I have also read that I should use the CDN Sync Tool plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cdn-sync-tool/ (ref http://nycgadgetgirl.com/2012/04/cdn-wp-super-cache-wordpress.html). Can anyone explain why this is recommended? My best guess is that WP Super Cache syncs only the cached pages and I need CDN Sync Tool to cache media?
Would love to know what is absolutely necessary. Seems to me there are a number of issues with CDN Sync Tool and I’d just as soon avoid the overhead of an additional plugin.
Thanks!
Donna
