• I’ve just installed Weaver II, so I’m not sure what part of my problem is Weaver vs WordPress. But WP controls basic posting. I have numerous static pages as my default, and I’ve checked the boxes hide the comment box by not allowing discussion. But I do want the comment box on the blog related pages, which I’ve set to pages-with-posts. I checked the boxes to allow discussion and previewed the page. The comment box seemed to have returned. But when I updated, it vanished. I tried a several times with the same result. My admin page displays this error message:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/17/7066117/html/wp-includes/query.php on line 2746
I don’t code, just check boxes. I don’t know what conflict I’ve set up. Does anyone understand the problem?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Thanks esmi. I think you’ve solved the problem. I had a forgotten plugin that was an effort to control the comment boxes. Had no luck with it and thought I’d dumped it. Now that it’s gone, things seem to be working.
