I’m experiencing a conflict with the Permalink Manager Lite plugin on all pages I use this combination.
All redirects are resulting in 404 errors.

    • Permalink Manager is configured to append .html to the end of URLs.
    • WordPress permalink settings are also set to %postname%.html.
    • Pretty Links such as /go/example.html are not working—they all return 404.
    • example is not a permalink alias used as post or page.

    WP 7.0.1 – PrettyLinks 4.0.6 – Permalink-Manager Lite 2.5.4

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?
    Thank you!

    Hello again, Robert!

Thanks for your patience. We tracked it down, and it’s on our side rather than a conflict with Permalink Manager. The current version isn’t handling slugs that contain a dot (like the .html in /go/example.html), so those links fall through and return a 404.

We’ve got a fix in the works that should go out in an upcoming release. Your existing links should start working again automatically once you update, so you shouldn’t need to recreate anything. I’ll follow up here as soon as it’s out. Thanks again for the detailed report!

    All the best,
    Euler.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your patience while we looked into this. We’ve released Pretty Links 4.0.7, which includes a fix for the redirect issue you ran into where links were returning 404s.

Updating to 4.0.7 should resolve it. You can update from your WordPress dashboard under Plugins, or under Dashboard, Pretty Links (it might take some time to appear there, in this case you can grab it directly from here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/pretty-link/ -> Download button).

Once you’ve updated, please check whether your links are redirecting as expected. If you’re still seeing any 404s or anything else that looks off, just let us know and we’ll be glad to take another look.

    All the best,
    Euler
