I’m using the Modern Share Buttons. In the CSS section, I activate the “Enable Custom CSS” slider, which according to the instructions:

If you want to take over control of your share buttons’ CSS entirely, turn on the switch below and enter your custom CSS. ALL of Simple Share Buttons Adder’s CSS will be disabled.

However, the default CSS is still loaded, and the contents of the “Custom CSS” field are not added

I’m using the buttons through a shortcode, if it makes any difference.

  • Hi there @kemie,
Thanks for reaching out, I’d be happy to help here!

Can you please provide me a little bit more of information about your issue as for example some specific URLs which are being affected by this and if you don’t mind some screenshots and screen recordings displaying what the issue looks like on your side for me to dig deeper into your case and provide you with a solid solution?

As well, can you please provide me with your custom CSS in order for me to give it a try on my end and double check if there isn’t anything preventing it from being populated on your end?

    Thank you,
    Andres

    You can see it at:
    https://precisely.se/blog/

So far, the only thing in my custom css field is:
    .ssbp-list, .ssbp-btn{border:1px solid red !important;}

Screenshot of what the buttons look like; they should, in theory, have no styling at all except for a red border.

    Hi there @kemie,

    Thanks for your reply! 😀

Can you please double check for me if your Simple Share Buttons Adder are on the version 7.4.18?

If not, can you please try updating them in order for you to be able to apply your Custom CSS Selectors properties.

As well, remember to wait for about 1-3 minutes for your changes to be applied after clicking on the right-handed save icon once you are done with your changes.

    Cheers!

Yes, using Version 7.4.18. Problem has persisted for DAYS after changes (well, since before I first posted this thread). The problem seems to be that ssba.css is loaded by the plugin with all the default styles

    Hi there @kemie,

    Thanks for your reply!

I’m currently looking into this and what you can try on the meantime is to add your Custom CSS and any other changes which aren’t taking effect on the DOM through your Classic Share Buttons’ section for them to be passed over to your Modern Share Buttons’ configuration.

I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

    Cheers,
    Andres

Same thing happens with classic buttons. My custom CSS is ignored and ssba.css is still added 🙁

    Any news?

    Hi there @kemie,

Following up your last inquiry, an update with the fix for the Custom CSS issue will be released in about 2 weeks in order for this issue to be completely fixed on your end.

Once it is released I will create another follow-up message on this same thread in order for me to be able to tell you what steps you need to take so this can be this fixed

Thank you and please do let me know if there is anything else I can help you with in the meantime!

    Cheers,
    Andres

Any update here? We are having the same issue and looking forward to the update to reenable custom css

Will be looking for another plugin since this is an important feature for me.

    Hi there @weschilders and @kemie,

    Thanks for your reply! 😀

You can use the Custom CSS feature on our latest Simple Share Buttons Adder Plugin version through your Classic Share Buttons settings.

Please do let me know if you are still experiencing any issues in order for me to provide you with a solution!

    Cheers,
    Andres
