Complete WordPress Breakdown
-
I wish I could come up with a more descriptive title than that, but I can’t. I was using WordPress 2.0 on http://horrorsnotdead.com/wpress when today I experienced a complete breakdown in function. I had just finished deleting a pingback to one of my own entries via the default admin CP and was proceeding to change one small thing in the WPress options, I clicked to confirm the changed option (I changed the website url, not blog url, location from horrorsnotdead.com/wpress to just horrorsnotdead.com) and without seeing a confirmation page the 404s started to come.
Each one was some variation of this:
The requested URL /wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fwpress%2Fwp-admin%2F does not exist. The Control Panel still looked the same, but anything I clicked brought up a corresponding 404 error. The blog itself also looked radically different from its template, without me ever altering anything in the template or any files other than the aforementioned deleted pingback.
I can no longer access the Control Panel in any capacity. I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1 following the excellent instructions linked to in the sticky with the hope of a fix, but noticed absolutely no change whatsoever.
Does anyone have any idea as to what happened? I’m not at all fluent with wordpress so I have no clue how to fix this. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated.
