Compilation Error

    I get the following compilation warning/error:

    Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: unrecognized character after (?< at offset 19 in /web1/user48826/website/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/router/mixin.url_manipulation.php on line 161

    Using WordPress (3.8.1) and NextGen Gallery (2.0.40) on a site running a customized version of the theme Restaurateur (2.0.5)

    The warning is thrown when moving between thumbnail and slide views of a gallery.

    Anyone got ideas about what is causing this and how I can get rid of it?
