Compatibility with SG Optimizer (WP Rest API)

    Is your plugin compatible with SiteGround’s SG Optimizer plugin? (WP Rest API functionality)

    Specifically, we are finding it difficult to save our SG Optimizer plugin settings. Every time we make a SG Optimizer settings change, it reverts back to its previous condition. We were advised by SiteGround that its plugin relies heavily on WP Rest API. If restricted, that could be part of the problem.

    Since iThemes Security has a WP Rest API option to restrict it, was wondering if this particular setting could be causing the issue noted above. Same question applies to other plugins that rely heavily on WP Rest API.

    Last, but not the least, could you kindly update your related documentation to reflect the above?

    Update:

    After further investigation and SiteGround assistance, we have found a solution for this issue.

    Solution:

    If your website uses Cloudflare, SG Optimizer, and WP Rocket, perform the following:

    (1) Cloudflare: Create a Cloudflare Page Rule using the following URL and Settings (replace mywebsite.com with yours)

    URL: *mywebsite.com/wp-json/*
    Always Online: On
    Security Level: Medium
    Cache Level: Bypass

    (2) SG Optimizer: Go to WP Dashboard > SG Optizmizer > Supercacher Settings > Excluding URLs and add the following URL: /wp-json/*

    (3) WP Rocket: Go to WP Dashboard > Settings > WP Rocket > Advanced Rules > Never Cache URLs and add the following URL: /wp-json/(.*)

    (4) Clear all cache (local and global)

    Note: It’s OK to restrict WP Rest API as recommended by iThemes Security.
