Compatibility with Polylang: Tags
-
Hi,
many thanks for this great theme.
I am using the Hueman theme with the Polylang plugin. I just realized that when I add tags to a post these tags will be set with NO LANGUAGE. This means the won’t show up in any tag list/cloud for neither of the blog languages.
It’s quite tedious to select every single tag, assign a language and then link it to a the corresponding tag in the second language. What makes things even more annoying: when using the same tag for both languages (in my case, for example a gene name, like ACE2) things get even more complicated. When “ACE2” was assigned as a tag to both english and german pages, setting the tag to english will of course also set the “ACE2” tag of german pages to english.
This means that for the german tag to show up (for instance, in tag clouds on the german website) it needs to be created first. This tag should have the same name as the english one (“ACE2”) but have a different slug (eg. “ACE2-de”). Then one needs to go back to each german article using the tag, delete the original tag (which was set to english) and insert the german one instead.
By doing this there is no way of seeing the difference between the english and german tag in the editor, since both appear as “ACE2” so one needs to take a guess (hint: the ladder one is the more recently created one). This takes hours! Is there any way of shortening this effort?
Best would be that when adding tags to a post of a certain language, these tags will automatically be assigned to that very language. Any chance?
Many thanks,
