What do you mean on your “front page post”? What’s your URL?
In order to enable comments on any page or post, you need to go to Screen Options > Discussion and enable it.

After you do this, go below your page/post editor and you’ll find the Discussion meta box. Just check and enable comments and update your page.

“Leave a Reply” entry form will not show on my front page post, regardless of what I do. They show up on other posts. I have followed all the standard instructions.
