Sounds like a problem with your theme, have you tried with the WordPress default one?

Thanks yurifari for replying! Yes, you are correct. It was my theme. I didn’t realize it was possible to disable comments through Genesis themes via Appearance > Customize > Comments and Trackbacks. I just had to check a box!

The importer worked great — thank you!
Although I can see my comments via the dashboard, they are not displaying on the website. Does this have something to do with the WordPress core updates? What can I do to get the comments to display on their posts?
