• Hello
After upgrading the system 2.7 to 3.3.2 (running all the steps in Codex), our website just stopped working comments …
Well .. in fact, they work. Going for approval, but instead of staying in the same post (eg, post_id = 10), you click on submit comments, and it loads the next page (example post_id = 11, and if there is to this page, it loads the next database). If you return to the previous page … the comment is there!!
Please, how can I fix it?
    Thanks

  • Please tell me that you made a database backup before upgrading. You attempted far too big an upgrade in a single step and may now have trashed your database. Ideally, this kind of major upgrade (ie anything beyond 2 versions back) need a number of smaller upgrade steps as outlined in Upgrading_WordPress_Extended.

    Hello
I followed all the processes of this link. And each update, I saved all the files and all the DB.
The problem is that updates are over 10, and I do not know exactly where the comments started giving error.
Now changing some tags in the related files, is that I noticed that the comments made on posts appear in comments made on pages too …
    What a mess …
    Thanks anyway 😛

I think the best things you can do is roll back to WP 2.7 by uploading a copy of the 2.7 core files and restoring your original database backup. Then carry out the manual upgrade steps as described in Upgrading_WordPress_Extended but, this time, check the site and carry out a fresh database backup after each upgrade. Also, I’d suggest switching to the default theme and deactivating all plugins before starting any upgrades.
