The problem seems to be that every paragraph tag has a pre-existing class attribute such that it reads thus:
. CommentPress will not parse this markup properly – you will need to remove this attribute so that each opening tag is simply
. You’ll probably need to edit the content in the “Text” tab of the post editor or use a text-editing program to do a search-and-replace.

Hmmm — I wonder if that was a consequence of migrating from a site using Digress.it, rather than CommentPress. Unfortunately, though making the switch was easy, it doesn’t seem to have had any effect. Just for good measure, I updated the and to and as well, but no difference there, either. The comments are still invisible.

    I wondered whether the
might be lurking in the comments as well, so I checked, but they all seem to be standard
tags.

Without seeing the raw data, it’s impossible to say why the comments aren’t being retrieved from the database. If you’d like me to take a look, please email me at cpdev@futureofthebook.org.
