• I am having problems with the comments not showing.

I just upgraded to the latest WP version. And when I set the permalinks to be the “Custom Structure” and put in: /%postname%/ the comments form disappeared.

There was also mention of a missing .htaccess file – which is hidden on a Mac, and doesn’t show up in the FTP, even though the settings are set to allow viewing of the file once uploaded.

I don’t know anything about the code here. But it the desired permalink address does work as I wanted it to (displayed at the top in the edit section).

It’s just that now the comments form has disappeared.

    Any ideas?

  • I am having this exact same problem… I enabled permalinks and now my comments form does not show up when it redirects to the “/%postname%/#respond” page. This is only happening on my custom template that I made using WP tags – it seems to work fine when I use the default template index.php file.

I do have an .htaccess file in the root directory, but all it has in it is information about PHP5 – do I need to add something else?

    Which host are you using?

When you set the custom permalink structure, do your urls all work ok with the new url structure?
