Yes I have checked the box to allow comments in settings.

I unchecked ‘automatically close on articles older than..’ and that worked!

I am using the Twenty Thirteen theme, my website is http://www.brightadminservices.com.
I have tried changing the theme, disabling plugins (as per advice seen in other threads) but I still can’t seem to get comments showing under my blog.
