• Hello,

I desire a simple button that will ‘Like’ my overall Facebook page, as opposed to the blog post I happen to be on. This seems like a straightforward requirement, but I’ve wasted many hours trying plugins that (in my opinion) overcomplicate this action, and add too much noise to the user experience.

The WP Like Button plugin comes agonisingly close to ticking every box, if it wasn’t for the annoying ‘Comment’ box that pops up after clicking the Like button. The pop-up pretty much ruins the whole plugin as far as I can see, because a) it doesn’t render correctly on all platforms/devices (truncated, for example, on mobile), and b) defeats the purpose of a simple button by adding a whole extra layer of complex user experience.

Most frustrating of all, I can see that the like button has already done it’s job (i.e. incremented the number of people who have liked the blog) before the pop-up appears, making the pop-up fully superfluous.

And therefore, my question is: can the pop-up be disabled?

    All advice, greatly appreciated,
    Dub

    Hi Dub,

The comment pop up is something which isn’t in our control. This pop up comes from Facebook end. And Facebook algorithm determines if it needs to show pop up or not. The popup is there to prevent spam. However, we’ll thoroghly take a look in it and see if it’s possible to disable.

As soon as if there’s any solution, I’ll get back to you.

    Thank you for your patience!

    Best,
    Amir
