    Hi,

I just installed WP 2.04 and am using the Kubrick theme.

In Options / Discussion “Before a comment appears” section, there is the following checkbox option:

“An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below”.

This is the ONLY option on that page that I HAVE CHECKED.

Nevertheless, WP happily allows anyone to post comments that are IMMEDIATELY displayed – with a heading of “Your comment is awaiting moderation”.

There must be other people who have had this problem. What is the solution? It is possible that I am doing something wrong – but I sure can’t figure out what.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Nevertheless, WP happily allows anyone to post comments that are IMMEDIATELY displayed – with a heading of “Your comment is awaiting moderation”.

Only the comment poster sees the comment–no one else can, until the comment is approved.

To see this, use another browser to view the post for which you’ve just posted an unmoderated comment, and you’ll see the comment isn’t there.

    Filosofo,

Thanks so much for explaining that to me.

Filosofo — Thank you, too. That was very helpful. That “feature” is not at all self-evident and very confusing for those of us who are testing to ensure comment moderation is functioning.
