Okay, I have discovered that the above error only occurs if I preview first – if I don’t, the comment disappears without any error at all! I have discovered the reason for this, however: it appears your plug-in doesn’t work with WP Hashcash. This the best plug-in I’ve found for seamlessly dealing with comment spam in every other theme I’ve tried, but for some reason, your plug-in doesn’t pass the Hashcash value, so the comment is interpreted as spam.

I’ve now tried a few other anti comment spam solutions, and none of them work with your comment form. Also, my iPhone interprets the email field as a standard text field, making it a lot more difficult to type in an email address. Hence, it appears your comment form is non-standard – I suggest you hook into the standard comment form so all this functionality works.

    Hey ljmac,

We’ll definitely be taking a look into this and see what the issue, thanks for pointing it out! Could you also tell me to the WordPress site that you have the plugin enabled on so I can see the issue for myself?

    Thanks,
    Henry

    Hi Henry,

You can see one of my sites here:

This issue appears to be Javascript/JQuery related: any JavaScript that interacts with the comment form doesn’t seem to work (I have another plug-in which adds formatting buttons to the comment form, which doesn’t work with your plug-in either). The non-standard formatting of the email field obviously isn’t JavaScript related, however.

    Regards,
    Lee
