Comment Alerts not sent to Admin

I set WP to send a comment alert every time someone posts a comment. That is working but I noticed I was getting no warning for comments in posts from a contributor. She is getting the alerts alright (and that’s not so bad). It seems to me though, that I should be able to configure if a contributor gets the alerts, and also that I should get all alerts.

Any help with this? Thx.
