There is a Mambo2Wordpress-Script at this site – yet it didn’t work for me, and for several others neither, so it seems. Has anyone done an scripted migration from Mambo to WordPress that actually worked?

Have you tried the script listed in the Codex?

Okay, I tried yesterday. It failed. Twice. I tried today, it worked! (Don’t ask me, but it imported all 1300 articles.)

BUT: It completely mangled the German “Umlauts” etc. in the databse. Is there a PHP/SQL-Geek out there who could fix that? The script seems to work just fine otherwise.

(And it would be another great feature if the original author’s names could be imported as well.)
