Try this:
1. Go to Contact Form DB -> Short Code admin page
2. Select one of your forms at the top
3. Export File = Excel .xls
4. Copy the link that is produced to a text editor
5. Edit the link to change “form=form-name” to be “form=*” for all forms, or list the forms you want “form=form1,form2,form3”
6. Pasted the new link in a browser
Thanks very much Michael, that worked!
The only that is missing though, is nowhere in the exported file does it say which entry came from which form. There are no columns that show this.
How would I set it up so that it can identify in the exported file which entry was on which form?
Thanks again very much for such a quick response,
TW
Ther is no way currently to export the form name as a field.
Hi Michael,
No worries, I found a work around 🙂
What I did was used the Generate Tag to add a new field. I used the Dropdown selection and called the field Form Name. Then I only gave it one option in the Dropdown (for example Contact Form ABC). Then on my next form I did the same thing, and put Contact Form XYZ. Etc…
By adding those new fields (with essentially a pre-populated selection, since there is only one choice in the dropdown), it now adds an extra column called Form Name, and I can now sort them once I export them all together!
There may be a better way to do this … but it worked for me, so I’m happy!
Thanks again for your help,
TW
That’s good. You might see if you can make that a hidden field so no one has to see it.
That’s a great idea Michael. Do you know how to make a field hidden? That would definitely look better.
thanks
TW
That depends on what form plugin you are using. If Contact Form 7, you need to add Contact Form 7 Modules plugin and it gives you a hidden field type to add to your field definition. I think there is also a CF7 Hidden field plugin.
