Hi,
thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.
This is caused by the use of that HTML code for the tooltips. The sorting algorithm removes the HTML code but then sorts for text that remains – but that will the be content of the tooltip.
Here, I recommend adding two extra columns to the table that only have the desired text for the sorting. You can then hide these columns from the visitor, but instruct the sorting algorithm to use that data for the sorting – instead of the original column data. For the necessary code for that please see https://wordpress.org/support/topic/consolidating-columns-without-changing-sorting-options/#post-7656711

Thanks for answering. Do you mean if we turn off the tooltips plugin totally it’ll be sorted correctly?
Hi,
yes, if you remove all the tooltip HTML code from the table cells, the sorting should work out of the box.
But you can keep the tooltips with the other approach as well.

Can you tell us why the Bank column at https://asianprivatebanker.com/2015-aum-rm-headcount-league-tables/ sorts correctly even if tooltips is enabled?
Hi,
good question. I’m not really sure, to be honest.
