    Be sure you do not have both the Gutenberg and the Classic Editor plugins active at the same time, they are incompatible.

    Try installing and activating the health-check plugin. After reviewing the status panel for flagged issues, invoke the troubleshooting mode. You should be able to save edits now. Use the troubleshooting admin bar item to incrementally restore your normal configuration, testing after each. When your edits again fail to save, the last activated module is the problem.

    If your server has ModSecurity active, it can cause problems.

    This was very helpful, thank you. I still couldn’t figure out the exact problem though. I was editing a file for a theme I have installed using the editor in cPanel. I also have Orbisus Theme Editor installed from some coding work I had paid to be done, which also had a child theme created. I made edits to the code using the Orbisus Theme Editor and my changes went through.
