    Hey guys,

I’m wondering if someone can advise me on the best plugin or approach to setting up the following.

    1) A User is presented with a form where they fill out details in a number of areas. They can upload several files to this as well

    2) Server side I can add a status and a download link for the file(s) I’ve created for them from this days that displays on this page.

    2) They may be able to log in and edit the form at a later date, at which time I’ll be able to make additional changes at my end ad infinitum

Does this make sense? Basically a client login where they can specify a brief, submit files and a place where I can upload the work and share the status with them

Is there a good existing plugin for this?

    Thank you
    Lachlan

This is doable but there are some things to consider:
What happens if a user uploads a malicious file?
Do you have a way to detect this and prevent it?
How do you ensure the client only sees what they are supposed to see and not some other clients’ files and pages?

Anyway think carefully through what you’re proposing as there are information and security risks that need to be carefully considered. Also think through whether WordPress *should* do this – there may be other solutions more appropriate for your business case. WordPress can do anything but sometimes there are better, more appropriate solutions at hand. Consider that as well.

Hopefully I haven’t scared you away from your idea! At this point I’d say take a look at the Pods plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/pods/. It may be able to help you achieve what you want with WordPress.

Thank you mate! I actually think this is spot on!

Yup I appreciate your advice re: security too. I’ll likely get a bunch of stuff rewritten down the line.

    Thank you very much!
