Clear Selection not resetting gallery

I can see this is an earlier bug, marked as resolved, but I am getting this problem with the latest install of everything

If I select an option, the main image changes to the variation image, and all the other gallery images vanish. Clicking ‘clear selection’ should then restore the gallery, but the previously selected variation image is all that remains until I refresh the page
