    Hi

I installed the plugin after reading on your homepage.I did not see any warning about being locked out if the login page has been redirected.

I can see in an earlier post it should be possible to delete the WPMM installation folder and problem solved.

I am worried about leftovers from the plugin being “uninstalled” this way.

    1. If I delete the installation folder, how do I cleanup afterwards if necessary?

    2. Is it possible to add my new login to the exclude list in the installation folder?

I am a non techie as you may have guessed by now. Please advice!

    Best Regards Poul

  • Hello @essepol,

Actually, the plugin has a FAQ (with an entry about Exclude list)… but unfortunately nobody reads it.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/#faq

Anyway… If you delete the plugin via FTP, it will be deactivated automatically by WordPress, but the plugin’s settings will remain in the database (wp_options table, 2 entries: wpmm_version and wpmm_settings – you can delete them by using phpmyadmin, if you want a clean reinstall of the plugin).
After that you can access the dashboard and reinstall the plugin if you need it anymore. Make sure you’re using the Exclude list… next time. 🙂

    Thanks.

    Hi George

I tried renaming the install folder instead of deleting it. After WP login I changed the name off the install folder back to original.

Then I went to the plugin page in WP admin and activated the plugin. It worked and I now have full control.

    Thank you for your help.

    Best Regards Poul
