Spam filter stopped working and I found that the plug in now says not installed. I tried to re-install it but says the files already exist. I was going to uninstall and re-install however it is not showing up in the plug in list.

Hello.

You can find and delete the plugin’s folder in the \wp-content\plugins\cleantalk-spam-protect. Then install it as a usual plugin. Here is the installation guide just in case: https://cleantalk.org/help/install-wordpress.
