• I have just completed a clean install of 3.5.1 and upon logging in to set configuration items, it reports there is a new version (3.5.1) available.

I’ve checked the version.php file and it reports 3.5.1.

Looking at the db_version in wp_options table reports 21707 which I believe is for 3.4.2.

    Something wrong somewhere?

  • your database files may think its a old version if you linked a database to your clean install. have you ran the update just to be sure? which host are you with?

Nope, 100% clean install – dropped database and recreate from scratch.

I go to the upgrade.php and it says everything is fine. Log in to the site and it says there’s an update to 3.5.1.

    I’m self-hosted.

Hi, I need some help, I’ve reinstalled wp from scratch, as last night I made a mistake by trying to change a widget area, using php files, well I?ve managed to set up jetpack, and now I’m getting the same message,as before: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/content/42/10710042/html/wp-content/themes/emphaino/functions.php on line 238, what shall I do next? Thnx

You don’t have the same issue and it doesn’t work well here to have more than one topic/person per thread.

To remove this message from WordPress go inside cPanel and update from there. Just like a first install you have to perform same step only change is that you need to update it. Backup your data first before any action.

After that you won’t able to see this message.
