Choose Role dropdown

Hi,

I want to add a Roles dropdown to the registration form on my website, but i d’ont get how it works.

I have a bunch of default and customized roles names.

When I add a Roles dropdown preset field to my registration form, the options are prefilled with only 5 of my actual roles (i have about 20 in real) so i don’t get why these roles are pre selected … but that’s not so important.

But if I write the roles i want, for example “Client” and “Réalisateur” which are the names of my 2 roles i want on this form (not IDs), when I go to my registration form it doesn’t seem to have any real action selecting one of those roles because the new user will be created but will have no role affected at all …

I tried to delete the roles dropdown from my registration and the creation of the user with the correct predefined role is ok.

So how does this Roles dropdown really works ? And i can i do to have a correct dropdown for my users to choose their role ?
