child theme template not working after Permalink change

    In my child theme of “Responsive”, I have a custom template “portfolio.php” which seems to not work after I switch my permalinks from default to post name. Was wondering if there are any known problems/fixes regarding this (maybe I am forgetting one small step, and/or the codex addresses this I just dont know where).

    I would check that your custom theme is still assigned to your page as its page template, it could have been lost along the path.
