Child theme menu css colliding with desired menu css

I am running Genesis and installed a new (very basic theme) called sample theme, that I wanted to use for editing.
My problem is that the coloring and text coding seems to be all entwined so it’s not making it easy to simply delete the menu css section and replace it with mine.
